Efficiency to Resilience

Harriet Mella spent a whirlwind 5 weeks between November 2023 and January 2024 visiting farms in South Australia and Queensland and her 8 on farm presentations were very well received.

There were a series of webinars recorded prior to the events and were available for the public until January 3rd, 2024.

This doesn’t mean they’re going away, but will be moved to the KindHarvest website in the coming month, and be available for purchase.

We’re doing this to ensure that Harriet’s research continues to be funded, not by companies who seek outcomes to model their own products, but those individuals who genuine want to be part of the movement to bring simplicity to farming.

Unlike many courses and talks we’re seeing these days, all promoting the holy grail of solutions, Harriet Mella firmly believes that we must constantly be looking and growing with the changes as our soil health improves.

Being fixed on a ‘one solution fits all’ is something Harriet warns is not ideal in the long run, due to the ever changing ecosystem from one season to another, or from one weather event to another.

Harriet’s love for life was apparent through her many discussions with farmers and her willingness to challenge the status quo of conquer and control to be switched to seek ways to allow nature and plants to do their best in their fixed environment.

There’s no doubt it’s not an easy task, and not one that should be done as an ‘all or nothing’ approach, but one that should raise farmer curiosity and teach, through observation that incremental changes over time will bring back the vibrant, sweet, dynamic and ‘alive’ features we’re missing in most soils today.

We are looking at ways to help more people connect with Harriet through consultation and training, but for now, her focus is on her research to move her theories forward.

Thank you Nina – for Harriet Mella
